• half-term happiness

  saw a different shape and plan to my diary……. The Fantastic Mr Fox has to be a contender for best kids film of the year. Brilliant. • dd – ice

  all drinks (except hot ones!) are best served with large, generous shapely ice-cubes… it heightens the enjoyment and the chill. Ice rocks…. ice works oh but avoid inclusion in the red wine!

• attention is love

  Attention is the most concrete expression of love. What you pay attention to thrives. What you do not pay attention to withers and dies. Quite simply, it needs to be restated for the good of my own soul! This is my theory: attention is love;- what do you think?

• an itch!

  It hurts to heal. Or at the very least, it itches! When I was a little boy I would scrape my knee/shin/elbow like all little-people do. After I sought out multiple elastoplasts, my Mum would tell me not to itch it. I would think, “It doesn’t itch; it just hurts!” But she was right; as soon as the wound would begin to heal, it would begin to itch and I’d want to tear off the bandage and scratch, scratch, scratch [...]
